I really enjoyed each of these stories! Although I had already read other books by Jeffrey A. Carver, these short stories would make a great introduction to him if you haven't read any of his novels so far. I especially enjoy his Star Rigger novels. If you like Sci-fi, then you'll love this book!
The plots were good. Mr. C writes well. Perhaps there was not enough information about the characters to create a fondness for them in me. There were times I could not " suspend my disbelief." But it was a good read.
I WAS DISSAPOINTED IN THE ENDING
If you haven't read any of his books, this one would be good introduction to his writing. Included are short stories that became the foundation for some of his novels in his Star-rigger universe. I highly recommend this sci-fi fans.
I always enjoy Carver's stuff. I didn't realize the Starrigger universe was *his* when I started reading his short fiction. This collection includes a short that became a Starrigger novel I remember reading an enjoying when I was younger! Yay!
Liked most of his stories. They got better as the book went along. It's a bit of an anthology of his writing, and he gets better as he heads into his Rigger story that develops into a great story a bit later. Just getting to the good part about half way through the book.
